Membership

In 1892, We and Our Neighbors started as a group of women looking to build community, stay active and find ways to make the world a better place. Over 125 years later, our members are still carrying out those ideals whether they are attending monthly gatherings, making charitable donations or simply contributing to the historic preservation of the clubhouse. Our club welcomes anyone in search of the warmth of a good neighbor.

Drop by any membership meeting, every THIRD Saturday of the month at 10:00am.

We meet at our San Jose Clubhouse to share coffee, snacks, stories and more.

General Membership - Annual dues: $50 (fully tax-deductible)

  • Welcome packet

  • Subscription to We and Our Neighbors monthly newsletter

  • Access to sister organizations’ publications

  • Discounts on select paid events held at the clubhouse

  • Opportunities to influence club activities (historical, philanthropic etc.)

  • Voting rights at monthly business meetings

  • 20% discount on rentals for a member in good standing for at least one year*

*Additional discounts are earned after 10 years (50%) and 20 years (80%).

Benefactor - Annual dues: $200 (fully tax-deductible)

Patron - Annual dues: $500 (fully tax-deductible)

  • Special recognition at the June social (if attending)

If membership isn’t for you right now, but you love seeing the little red clubhouse on the corner, not to worry! You can help us keep the lights on and legacy alive by contributing to some of our ongoing expenses:

  • Change a lightbulb $10

    • How many 15 foot ladders does it take to change a lightbulb?

  • Replace a few worn out chairs $25

    • We supply chairs and tables to our renters for weddings, baby showers, birthdays and more!

  • Restock the Little Pantry* $50

    • Did you know that the clubhouse hosts a small lending pantry? Members and neighbors keep the shelves filled with essentials and you can too.

  • Plant some new flowers $100

    • Add a pop of color to make our neighbors smile.

  • Memorial Brick* $200

    • Leave your mark on the clubhouse’s history (literally).

  • Trim the trees $500

    • Woodn’t that be nice? We can’t leaf them alone and fall behind in landscaping maintenance.

  • Fix the fireplace* $5000

    • Our spark has gone dark, help us reignite the hearth and soul of the clubhouse.

  • Add to our rainy day fund $10000

    • Whether it’s the floor, the pipes or the roof all good things come to an end and historic things cost extra…
