African Library Book Project

This year, we are supporting a wonderful organization, African Library Project. Collections of children’s books are sent to Africa and their organization is creating much needed Children’s Libraries all over Africa. Our Club goal is to collect 1000 gently used books. That is enough to create a whole library!

The African Library Project changes lives book by book by starting libraries in Africa. Their grassroots approach mobilizes volunteers, young and old, in the United States and Canada to organize book drives and help establish small libraries in rural African communities. Their method makes a concrete and personal difference for children and communities on both continents.

If you have extra time on your hands during the Shelter At Home and need a project, how about cleaning out your kids outgrown books and donating to this worthy project? It would help many deserving children in Africa!

One of our members, Sue Weitzel, would be happy for you to drop them off on her porch since our Clubhouse is still closed due to Covid19 health orders.

Please Email us at weandourneighbors@gmail.com for address and details.

If you have no books to donate and still want to help, you can contribute funds to theClub. Your financial donation will help offset the $500. cost to send the books.
