About Janie

Janie has been working at the torch since 2008.  She has a studio at her home where she is always wanting more time.  She teaches flameworking at the Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI) in San Jose.  She loves introducing people to the magic of glass.

She has lived in San Jose, just up the street from We and Our Neighbors for 40 years.  She graduated from San Jose State and Santa Clara University.  She worked for many years as a career advisor for NOVA, a job training center in Sunnyvale. She is retired now and when she isn’t teaching at BAGI, she spends as much time as she can behind the torch.
